10 Things

1. For me, this is the time of year that feels like a new beginning, a new year. Whenever the sun starts shining, the temps rise, and the snow starts melting, I think about everything starting afresh and how I will soon be a year older.

2. I started my list for 27 today. I already have 27 things, I am sure I will change things around before the actual birthday though. I have completed 16 things on the list for 26, which is pretty good.

3. I really don’t want to be 27. I don’t even like the way 27 looks as a number. Goodbye mid-twenties, hello formal adulthood.

4. Matthew finally got the towel bar up last Sunday when he got home. He works 65 hours a week right now, so he had good reason for it to take so long. Doesn't he look pumped?

He got upset because the camera *clicked* when he was trying to do some sort of precise thing with the wall.

What is he trying to hear?

What a homemaker...

5. We went out to dinner on Friday night with Z and J. Matthew and Zach bought this gift set to drink from.

We played cards. We all love playing cards. We used to play cards on a regular basis when Zach and Matthew lived together in Bloomington.

6. The house officially went on the market on Friday. No visits yet.

7. Matthew and I ran 4miles last night. That is significant for us. My miles were just over 10 minutes. It felt good because I hadn’t been in the gym for over a week. Then today I got up and went to yoga, that is when my body started to give up and say please make it stop. I was struggling through poses that I can usually do with ease.

8. 2 more weeks of first grade teaching in Minneapolis for me. I will miss it but I am looking forward to being done and moving forward.

9. I applied for my first job on Friday. The whole thing made me really nervous. Not the single event, just the fact that the process is about to move into full swing.

10. I was at the rents on Friday and was talking to my dad about me and Angie having blogs. He laughed at this and asked who read it. I said well Angie reads it and so does Tara….and I know that mom read it once too. :)

For Sale

In 4 days, this place will be up on the market.
I am not even thinking about the bigger picture at the moment. I am just glad to be able to say that I am well over half way done with cleaning and organizing.

I have been locked up in this place the past two weekends....and every time I walk through here, I see so much more to be done.

It is amazing how much dust, dirt, and grime builds up over the course of 2 years...and pretty nasty to think how I was able to avoid it this long.

Matthew says that if no one wants to buy our house in the next few months, the worst that has happened is that I cleaned the place up. I think that is easy for him to say.

Right now, the mess is hiding in the cupboards and closets. I lack the motivation to get working on that, which is what brings me to the blog.

I think this was probably the 15th townhome Matthew and I walked through about 2.5 years ago. We were talking through what we liked about it as well as what we liked about the one half a block away. I told Matthew I would agree to buy this one as long as we got new countertops and a new oven.

At least we got new countertops.

I am a little fearful people will shy away from these jalapeno pepper walls. I love them though, especially because they hold the memory of Matthew suprising me and redecorating the room while I was gone one weekend.

Sometimes my gut tells me that we will be here for a few more years yet and other times I look ahead to the future and we are not living here. Only time will tell me what really happens.

Matthew JUST walked in the door and is oohhing and ahhing over the work that I've done. He just said "OMG!" about 5 times, hahaha....what a blessing.
