Cora 6 months

Cute little baby Cora on her 6 month birthday.....

She was having such a great time getting her pics taken and then look who starts to sneak in on the action...

Cheese!

The only problem is that she took the bunny from Cora and wouldn't let her have it back....

...then they each got their own animals...

My little bugaboo bear. You are 6 months old! You are so darn cute and lovable. You are the most content and easygoing baby. You get fussy, of course, like any baby does, but is only when you are hungry or tired.

Cora at 6 months...

Is such an onlooker. She loves watching other people and plays happily with others around or by herself.

If she is hungry or tired but we can't get to it right away, the next best thing for her is to be cuddled or held by someone. She is almost always happy if someone is willing to hold her or walk around with her.

She has started sitting up by herself in the last few days. She quickly made the switch from sitting up for 5 seconds to sitting up indefinately. Yesterday we played outside and I sat her down in the grass. She took in her surroundings and never toppled over, just kept sitting and sitting.

She likes to play on the ground and will roll to get to other toys. She just rolls and rolls and rolls now. If we lay her down, it is rare to come back 2 minutes later and see her in the same spot.

She has started pushing all the way up with her hands when she is on her tummy.

I may be a crazy mother, but I think I heard her say "mama" yesterday morning when I went in to get her out of her crib.

Cora has just started solids. She tried banana a week ago. This past weekend we got her started on oatmeal and sweet potatoes.

She will give big smiles to anyone who is willing to play with her, especially big sister Elsie. Elsie can be somewhat rough with her and will lay on her belly or back to give her hugs. Cora goes with the flow and usually plays with Elsie's hair when she does this which makes Elsie crack up with the giggles.

When I am feeding Cora in the morning,we often hear Elsie and Dada start to get up. Cora always stops eating and turns around to look for them with a big smile on her face.

Cora and Elsie just finished up going to daycare. She did really well there and I always got reports on how much the other kids loved Cora.

Cora still isn't on a real consistent schedule but she generally eats 5 times during the day and once at night. There are still nights when she wakes up twice (or even 3 times) to eat. Usually at least one of her naps is a couple of hours long and the other two about 45 minutes or so, so she generally takes about 3 naps a day.

She still wears 6 month clothes a lot of the time mostly due to weather. The 6 month onsies are definately getting too snug on her. All of her 9 month clothes are for the summer and the weather just hasn't cooperated with us yet.

....All of the above was written on her 6 month birthday.  For the last week Cora has had a cold and so have I and Elsie.  Because of the cold she has had a more difficult time eating and sleeping.  She has been getting up 2-3 times a night and not sleeping longer than an hour for her naps.  The biggest treat for me would be if at 7 months she magically starts sleeping through the night.  We shall see!  She is a cutie either way!
