Dinnertime!

**Tonight I made some Mexican lasagna for dinner. When it was all done Matthew said, "Aren't you going to take a picture? You used to do that all the time." So I did.

And then I came on the computer tonight and had to laugh at some of the old photos I found doing the same thing....

**Winter 2008...eating chicken taco bake...

Matthew must have liked it...he practically licked the plate clean...

**Summer 2008...grilled food of course...

**Fall 2008...bacon potato soup...

...I remember that Matthew fell in love with this meal. He said something like, "this is one we should make for the kiddies," because we sometimes talk about meals that will be worth putting in the rotation when we have a family someday.

**Valentine's Day 2009...

I remember slaving away at this meal all day while Matthew was gone doing tax work. Everything was made fresh from the ground up....lemon greek salad dressing and salad, basil chicken pasta, cheessy garlic bread, and white chocolate raspberry cheesecake...

The Fijis

Matt and Alyssa are safe and sound in Fiji. We got a short word from Matt via e-mail the other day. Now it will be at least a year before we see them again. Craziness. Last week Matt's band had their last gig until he comes back. It was a fun sendoff. Wish I had pictures of that. I look forward to hearing more about their travels on their blog....

************

*Matthew got a job at Regis. This is the second one he's applied for and the process moved much more quickly this time. He found out on Monday and we went out to dinner to celebrate. He has told everyone at TA so the hard part is over. I am very excited for him and hoping this will be a great long term fit.

*It is a crazy feeling when the present meets the future. There was a lot of uncertainty for a while about where/when/if Matthew and I would find new jobs...and in the scheme of things it all got settled relatively quickly. It worked out so nicely for us to work near where we live now and where we potentially want to move.

*I am writing this quick before I take off on a run. In the last couple of weeks, Matthew and I have been running 3 times a week for 3 miles each time. We've gotten into a routine lately where we go running and then come home and have smoothies. :)

*There were other things I was going to write about but they've escaped me......
