July stuff

July photo dump....

Taking Elsie to get her AFOs......aka special boots for her feet so that she stops toe walking....

She doesn't mind wearing them at all and I might even say she likes it.

The second weekend in July we visited Patty and Duane in Fergus and then spent the Saturday and that night at Zach and Jill's cabin which is always so much fun. We also ate at Zorbaz two times on this visit!

Elsie generally does not enjoy getting her feet and legs stretched for her physical therapy. "I'll stretch myself!"

We took Grant for a birthday adventure. He, Elsie, and I went to the zoo and then we did a movie and pizza at our house. He spent the night and got to play the following morning too!

I took Grant to Northfield that Saturday and then made a date out of it for Cora and I. Cora asked if we could have a picnic so I picked up a sandwich and soup to eat on the Carleton campus and then played and explored on campus for a while. We then went and got cupcakes from cakewalk, a must while in Northfield.

"No hands mom!"

Matthew and I took the girls to the minions move that night. They are obsessed with Despicable Me 2 but this one just wasn't nearly as good....no big deal though because they enjoyed the experience of going to a movie theater and eating popcorn!

4th of July weekend

A mini Angie checking her phone...

This was a crazy moment when I accidentally went on a 6 mile walk. I wanted to go for an hour walk so I figured I'd go 30 minutes then turn around and come back. Once Lily woke up, I was 45 minutes in and had no phone service. I started running forward to get my bearings and see if I could circle the lake only to realize I'd arrived at an interstate and had to turn around...and best case scenario I would be gone for a total of 2 hours. I had my cell phone but still no service and was alternating running and walking to try to get back because I knew my mom would be so worried. Angie found us when we had a mile or so left to go....I learned my lesson to not go walking around willy nilly when you have 2 babies with you, or ever really.

My mom, Angie, and all of our girls had gone up 2 days earlier then the guys. We did a lot of activities in the back yard, including a lot of art projects. It proved too hard to take kids down to the lake by ourselves.

Elsie is really into swimming this summer. :)

Elsie's first time on the tube.

Cora loved riding the SeaDo with grandma and grandpa!

Waiting for fireworks on the 4th...

The girls became crazy-hyper waiting for the show. We thought they might start at 9:30. By 10 we were still waiting and I declared we were leaving st 10:15 if they still hadn't started. They started at 10:10.

It was all worth it because Cora loved her first fireworks show. After the opening she declared, "that was amazing!"

Cuties linking arms while they watched the fireworks....

On the 5th we went out on the water again and left after lunch.

I was having memories of holding Elsie on the pontoon like this when she was just a wee one...
