Alaina 10 months

10 months!  Alaina is speeding fast toward being 1 year old....I'm loving the age that she is at which simultaneously gives me that feeling of getting sentimental over her being my last (most likely!) child.

We were able to get outside for some photos on her 10 month birthday.  Clapping along with her sisters...

Getting the love from Coco.  Elsie has always loved up on Alaina and lately I have been starting to notice Cora doing the same things....I think she was just waiting for her to get bigger.

I told them to get closer for a picture and then they got really close!

Her monthly monster photos...

She is my gorgeous girl.  I love looking at this photo (below).  She is getting to be such a big girl and with her hair thickening and getting longer, I feel like I am starting to get a glimpse of the girl she will become.

The last month has brought HUGE changes for Alaina.  She has been changing in every possible way.....moving, eating, talking, playing. etc.

She has finally taken to eating food on a regular basis.  She likes her 3 meals a day and snack too if there is time.  I mostly just give her little pieces of foods.  I gave her full slices once and she dropped one on the floor and I was bummed that it was no good anymore.  The little pieces are easier for her to maneuver and gobble up plus she is getting lots of pincer grasp practice!  She now eats everything we do as long as it is soft, not spicy, and not one of the allergy foods.  Her favorite foods are cheese, fruits, and cereal...typical baby stuff.  Her favorite veggies are the orange ones...sweet potatoes, carrots.

She hasn't pulled to stand yet but will play for a little while in standing if I put her there.

Loves the swing!

She is easy to make smile!

The biggest change for Alaina is how much she is moving now.  She rolls and scoots all over the place.  Once she finally started rolling consistently she was using it as her mode of transportation.  In the picture below she was sitting near the toys playing and quiickly got into the kitchen.

She goes every direction but straight forward, she hasn't figured that one out yet.  She always shimmies herself around our couch and into our main living room area.  She tends to always get herself in the same little spot, wedged between her books and the fireplace....then she fusses because she doesn't know how to crawl forward and get out.

She loves rolling underneath stuff.  For whatever reason, she loves playing underneath the infant chair.

Still just has one tooth.

Loves to clap and scoot in circles when she is sitting up.

When we are outside she is super content to just sit and watch the big kids roam around....oh and eat the grass if she can get her hands on it.

Jabbers and babbles a lot.  It sounds like she says "hi" to people sometimes.  She will wave bye but only in real life situations when it is time to say bye to people.

Still breastfeeding and getting hungry for her nighttime feeding right now.  She nurses 4 times a day and once during the night.  I know I could let her cry it out and not eat at night but I'm not sure I will ever be ready for that with this little babe.

Consistently down to 2 naps a day now and goes to be around 7:45.  Time to go feed her and get her ready for bed now!

Fairs and festivals

We were up at Rutabaga Festival for a bit at the end of August.  The girls enjoyed dancing to the music and going on a few rides.  We went on a tilt-a-whirl and I thought I was going to be sick most of the time.  Elsie and Grandma (mom) were sitting by each other and trying to make it spin and just laughing at my wheeziness.  However, the big slide was fun because us 5 gals rode down together and held hands.  Cora being silly and trying to ride Elsie's bike, she put the helmet on backwards :)

Our annual State Fair trip!  I was pretty nervous about this.  The year prior did not go well...Cora couldn't fall asleep and got crazy and we only stayed for a few hours....and this year we were adding another child to the mix.  However, things were great this time around!

When we were walking longer distances, Alaina stayed in the wrap and the big girls sat in the stroller.

The streets were so nice and open in the morning.

I was on a mission to take pictures of all of the foods we tried this year.  The one thing I didn't get a photo of was our shakes.  Matthew had the strawberry rhubarb and I can't remember what I had, they were both tasty!
Our first foods in the morning were the jam and butter scone and the doughsant, both super yummy and would get them again....from french bakery market whatever.

The girls doing the Little Farm Hands.

Cheese curds....wouldn't reccomend these particular ones.  We got them from a random vendor instead of in the food building.  They were just ok, we didn't even finish them all.

Alaina fell asleep late morning...SUCCESS!  We knew we would be able to stay later if she took a decent nap and she slept for over an hour while we walked around and ate shakes.

Mini corn dogs....surprisingly delcious....from the gass station.  We got these for the girls but then Matthew and I ended up really liking them.

We were able to meet up with Gary and Becky and hang with them for a while and see the parade together.  We also saw Greg a few times.

Chili cheese fries...we've gotten these before when we are in the mood for something a little more filling.

Deep fried cookie dough....sooooo good!  I think this will become a yearly treat.  It was highly reccomended so I made sure we got some before we left and I was glad I did!

We ended up leaving around 3-3:30, super successful day as far as we are concerned!

Cora was reading this book and also cracking up....

She has a way of saying "mooooom" and laughing....

Diane's retirement party was a success!

Elsie was so funny. She went clothes shopping with me and when it was her turn to try stuff on, she mimicked the way I looked at myself in the mirror.

Lately whenever we go on walks, Cora want so run way ahead and then stop and wait...

Playing at the marathon...

Lately Elsie will write letters and then ask me what she wrote...

Going to visit Lilly in the hospital, we had quite the trek up and it took longer to get there then planned, we were all excited to see a wagon to use...
