It was good to be up there and finally see where they are living their days.
We had a good time laughing....
having a few drinks...
and playing games...
It was this lady's birthday. So her and father chose to come up to Duluth and celebrate with us. We told her that eventhough she is now 51, she doesn't look a day over 48.
Angie made this angel food cake in a new age way. She used a typical cake pan so that it caved in instead of fluffing up, causing a pool of lemon frosting to meet in the middle.
It was tasty and pretty.
On Saturday we went and visited the Runyans and Whades, it was a good time. Angie and Paul then took us to a burger joint and another bar that they like. I was about to bring my camera but Paul said I would get punched if I brought a thing like that into these bars. Angie and Goldade objected as well. I think that they just didn't want any evidence of how good I was at shuffleboard. They had that game at one of the bars we went to and it was quite fun.
Sunday we took off in these condtions...
Driving in this kind of weather is pretty much Matthew's worst nightmare and it is no fun to be with him when he is experiencing his worst nightmare. But isn't it pretty?
Once we got home we started preparing for the game right away. Mom, dad, Matt, Alyssa, and Andrew came over to watch it. Look, I am in a picture! Dad took this.
We all had high hopes and the tension was high. Mom and Andrew kept the drama rolling by alternating between saying things like, "That's it, I know we are going to lose" and "This might be our year." throughout the entire game. All the jumping and shouting at the TV proved to be futile.
Once again, it wasn't the Vikings' year.
Okay, I'll try it again.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, you are sooooo funny. You made me laugh so hard I was crying.
The photography is great, there are some really cool pictures. I am sooo proud of you, but of course I am your mother.
27 is nothing. You have all of you 30's and 40's to look forward to. Take it from someone who has been there that the best is yet to come.
I wrote more the first time but I gotta go. Dad is waiting for me.
Love you Loads. MOM
