Elsie 18 months

Here is my little munchkin at 18 months!!

She is a silly little woman!

These were taken on 12/11/12, so it is well past her 18 month birthday, but better late than never!

This one of her trying to crawl away reminded me of one of the baby ones, maybe 9 months?

She is our loving cutie!!

So eventhough Elsie is now 19 months old, the following little write up was recorded the same day I took the pics, I just haven't carved out time to get this up here until now.  Although there are of course already changes, I'll stick with what I wrote then!

At 18 months....

- Elsie loves to sing!  SHe frequently makes up songs, especially after she hears other people singing.  Her favorite tunes to sing are the ABCs and Baby Balooga, she has the rhythm just not many words.

- Also loves to dance by swaying side to side.

- She is very loud and active.  She is constantly running around the house babbling.

- Just had ear tube surgery which went well and might have made her louder and crazier.

- Loves her baby sister.  Whenever she sees or hears her she will say "baby buhbuh", "baby towa", or some other form of baby follwed by a 2 syllable word.  She gives her hugs and really likes to give her blankets, she will pile them on her if we let her.

- She climbs up on the furniture and loves to run around on it if we let her.  She fell off the other day by walking right off the couch.

- Is sick a lot.  Constantly battling colds and ear infections, had the flu right before Thanksgiving and spread it around.

- Is saying more words all of the time.  She just started putting two words together saying "more cracker" and "hi baby".  Some of her common words include: mo(more), wawa(water), hi, bye, mama, dada, baby, shhs (shoes), socks, book, ba(ball), cheese, peese(please), nana(banana), nigh nigh, no, cracker, whats-this, whats-that, buhbuh (baby bottle).

- Likes to bring books over to us and have us read to her.

- Points out the body parts of eyes, nose, mouth, hair, ears, belly button, and tries to say words for each.

- Likes to run around ECFE and is one of the active ones, not always liking to sit for circle time.  Usually she doesn't mind when we leave the room but the last couple of times since Cora was born, she has.

- Unless she is sick and not feeling well, she is very happy all of the time.  She laughs a lot, both fake and real.  When other people are laughing and she notices, she will do a fake laugh to join in.

- She can have a sassy side and will run away from us while saying "no" if there is something she doesn't want to do.

- Understands and follows a lot of directions, sometimes she amazes me with what she knows.

- Favorite toys right now include babies, plunkers, and pushing things around.

- Likes to be silly and play rough and tumble.  She will hang on us from behind and peek out to "scare" us.

---Speaking of that, I have to add one thing that I am not sure she was doing at 18 months.  She likes to cover her head with a cloth or blanekt and walk around without being able to see.  She thinks is is hilarous and we tend to laugh at her as well.  She is a goof!
