Cora 3 months

Little Cora has been causing some drama lately by not taking a bottle.  At 6 weeks or so, she took it just fine.  A few weeks later, she refused again and then pretty much refused all attempts that followed.  We occasionally got her to drink after lots of work but never more than a couple ounces.  I did lots of research on techniques and bottles.  We ordered 2 special bottles and the one that really helped was the Lasinoh Momma bottle. The first time we used that bottle, she didn't even really fight it.  Matthew took a Sunday to get her to consistently bottle feed and she fought the first feeding for an hour but did fine the next 2.  On my first day back to work she did the same thing with Andrew.  Fought the first feeding for an hour and finally drank, but not more than a few ounces.  I am hoping that as she continues to get bottles on a daily basis this will no longer be an issue.

When she isn't mad about having a bottle shoved in her face, she is a happy little gem of a baby.  She smiles and giggles a lot.  She makes really funny little coo-ing sounds.  Sometimes I will smother her face with kisses and she will continuously laugh and smile along.

She is generally relaxed and goes with the flow.  This is good when Elsie can sometimes be a little crazy with her.

Just like Elsie did, she has a serious crush on the fan.  She will coo and laugh while watching the ceiling fan.

Over the last month she has been playing with her hands a lot more.

Over the last few weeks she usually sleeps through the night and wakes up once between 3-5 to eat.  One night she slept from 8pm until 7am but there have also been nights thrown in where she got up 2-3 times to eat.  I think I have noticed that the nights she wakes up more than once are due to gas.

We still have not started an actual bedtime routine but probably should.  Now that I am back to work, it would be nice to be having Cora go to bed at a consistent time.  Right now she has her last feeding between 8:00-9:00 and then goes to bed following that.  She usually gets tired before that and sleeps in her chair until she wakes for that feeding.

Generally eats 6-7 times a day.  Times vary based on when she is taking naps.  We seemed to be getting to a somewhat consistent schedule of about these times:  7, 930, 12, 3, 530, 830, 430.  But whenever I start to try and rely on a schedule, Cora changes it up.  The last week she has been eating 7, mid-morning, mid-afternoon, early evening, before bed, and once during the night.

Does not have a consistent nap schedule right now.  The only nap she consistently takes in her crib is the one in the morning.  She goes down for that nap between 8:30-9:00.  The rest of her naps she takes in her chair right now, when she seems to need them.  Her morning nap is usually 45 minutes.  She usually has at least one nap that lasts 1-2 hours.

She is getting to be a much bigger girl although I have not weighed or measured her.  I pulled out all of the 6 months clothes and each time I put one of those outfits on I am surprised that they actually fit her.  I guess I am just not ready to think of her as a baby who can wear 6 month clothes.  She is outgrowing 3 month clothes mostly due to length - especially in the arms.  She has long arms just like her mom.
