That's a picture of my little Lainey right at this moment. She fell asleep during tummy time and I just let her be. Now she is sleeping next to me and all the daycare kids are napping and there are a few moments of total silence in the house. Lainey turned 3 months last week and is turning from my itty bitty baby to my big baby.
At 3 months...
Lainey is smiley and giggle. She laughs during diaper changes and other random moments. Whenever I try to recreate the situation to get her to laugh more, it never works. She also loves to coo and talk to us, it is the cutest.
Loves her sisters and the daycare kids. Sometimes I have to shoo them all away so they don't smother her but other times they sit and talk or sing to her and she smiles right along.
Has started to sleep through the night on occasion or wake up just once to eat. We were in a bad routine for a few weeks during February. I would take 20 minutes to get her to sleep and then about a half hour later she would wake back up to eat and then fall asleep but not want to be put down. I would be in and out of her room for 1-2 hours of her falling asleep and then waking back up....so even though I would start the process of getting her to bed by 8, I wasn't able to get to sleep myself until between 10-11. This all was around the same time she grew out of her newborn swaddle sack. I was constantly second guessing myself about what she needed. Is it that she wants to be swaddled tight, or not swaddled at all, or doesn't need that feeding, or should I feed her more before bed, or does she need to just be awake for more time before bed, and on? I finally decided to start with no longer allowing her to take naps in her chair or the swing one day. I had her take all but one nap in her crib and pack and play. That naturally had her getting up more as well and squeezing in another daytime feeding. After that first day of trying it, she ended up sleeping through the night! So now I am sticking to that routine and also waking her up to eat before 7 if she hasn't gotten up already. Now she generally eats 5 times a day and once during the night. Her naps are all shorter 20-45 minutes and then I allow her to take one in the swing (turned off) that lasts longer, like 2 hours. I wish I had more time to work on getting her to nap more in her crib but it is really difficult to do while doing daycare.
She is long and has really been filling out these last few weeks. She doesn't fit in 3 month PJs and is starting to wear more 6 month clothes overall.
Has started to play with things more. She likes to grab cloth, little blankets, or toys. She is starting to bat at toys under her play gym or in her chair. Also really likes to eat her hands lately...
I'm just loving this babe of mine! (Will add photos from her 3 month bday later!)

OMG I can't believe she is so big and she is always so smilely!!!!
