I've got a 9 month old baby boo! That's craziness! I feel like Cora should still be the 9 month old but she is 2 going on 13 and Elsie is looking like a big kid and time just keeps barreling forward!
Still no progress on the rolling or crawling! Within the last few days, Alaina prefers to roll onto her tummy to sleep, but she still doesn't roll around while playing. She also doesn't quite get on her hands and knees to rock but she does rock in her own way by jerking her butt backward. As expected, the doctor at her 9 month visit wasn't concerned. At first he brushed the topic off by saying some kids don't roll but then I emphasized that it's not just about rolling. Sometimes I'm not sure if my hyper-awareness of child development helps or hurts the situation. He ended up taking a closer look at her on her tummy and sitting up and said she looks great and strong so don't worry about it. So I'm moving on to other developments and letting her stand....
This is a horrible picture of me but I kind of like it because it shows Laina and I in our element. Me walking around with her on my hip while I play with her tootsies. One of the girls took the pic without me knowing.
How cute is this girl? She ALWAYS has her feet crossed. Also, she got her first tooth a few weeks ago and since then has been putting things in her mouth a little extra. The tooth definately disturbed her routine for a bit but she is back to normal for now.
Her sister Elsie is always nearby. She loves to move her and roll her back. I'm always reminding Elsie to be gentle with her and that she can't pick her up!
Alaina now eats 2 meals of baby purée. I usually hear up 2 cubes and so entires add oatmeal to it. Sometimes she gobbles it down and other times I am lucky if she eats half. She just doesn't love food. After her 9 month appointment, I went and picked up some puffs and rice crackers and she is,liking those snacks.

Speaking of, here were her stats from the appt....weight=17 lb 11 oz 42%, length=27.8 in 58%, head 17.3 in 50%

My crazy face is due to the fact that I was trying to breastfeeding Alaina and the older girls kept hanging on us...
Alaina still breastfeeds 4-5 times during the day and once at night. She eats after each nap and then again before starting the bedtime routine. She is transitioning from 3 naps down to 2. She is starting to get into that routine of just napping around 9:15 and 1:15
She loves clapping!!

Other things....she babbles to us a lot. She still says "dada" the most but also has said "mama" a handful of times as well as "yaya" and other little sounds.
She likes to grab my hair and really anything that she can get ahold of that is in the general vicinity. She is definately in the phase where she likes to,use the pincer grasp to try to get little things. It's amazing what babies can find!
Along with clapping, she will mimic other motions I make sometimes, like waving her arms.
She is starting to turn the whiny voice on just for me. When I am at my workout class Matthew always reports that she was so happy but as soon as she sees me get home she gets whiny for me to get her. Similarly, she can forget all about me when I am with other kids but if I pass right by her then she is whiny for me.
We all love the little munchky!
