Right now it seems like every other phrase Cora says starts with "Mama..." or "How bout...." She is a Mama's girl and is always asking me things or questioning things. She will question things until I go a little coocoo, here is an example....
Cora: (While driving) Mama, why are you going this way?
Me: Because this is the way to the store.
Cora: But are we going to Grandma and Grandpa's?
Me: No we are going to the store.
Cora: But why do you go this way?
Me: Because these are the roads we drive on to get there.
Cora: But Mama, why don't we drive on the other roads?
Me; Cora, just because!
She will do this same sort of questioning with all sorts of stuff.
Today at lunch someone had a really small piece of pizza and Cora was saying, "ohhhh, look at that little Lena pizza. It's so cute and little like cute little baby Lena." I had to laugh because they are practically the same size.
Other types of things that Cora says...
Mama, how bout dats a green cup, daddy's favorite color!
Mama, I love baby Lena.
eh huh
But Mama, I don't like those kind.
I need to tell you something! (Sometimes she waits until we look her in the eye before she says whatever it is she wants to say. She also says this a lot when she is crying and really wants her perspective heard!)
Mama, can I have a gummy bear after my nap?
Can we get more at the grocery store?
"Mama, I'm just having some fun down here!" (that's a direct quote I wrote down because it made me giggle)
Mama, I'm not going to go to the bathroom cuz I'm not going to poop my pants. (she has bowel issues)
ALL the words to Rudolph the red nosed Reindeer as well as other random Christmas songs....she really surprises me sometimes with how many words she catches onto.
One thing I've always noticed about Cora is that she goes to the beat of her own drum. She generally doesn't feel bad about things or get embarrassed of things that other kids might.
Just like she catches onto songs easily, she catches on to stories, facts, and new words pretty easily. She got some new play doh stuff for her birthday and I laughed at her calling all of the pieces "different molds" because that is what they call them in the play doh videos they sometimes watch. She also can tell you which colors mix together to make other colors.
She always has her hair falling in her face. She takes out clips and hair things when I put them in and just feels most comfortable with her hair falling wild. When Elsie drew a picture of our family for a Christmas present she said "I have to draw hair in Cora's face because that's how she always looks."
She is a good sister. She loves her sisters so much and gives them hugs each day. She insists on giving them each a hug every night before bed.
She loves playing with her friends....she can keep up with a play theme whether she is playing with younger or older kids.
Favorites: Minions! She loves the minions and finds them so funny and loved having a minion birthday party. She loves to play with play doh. Loves to get us up early and watch videos on my phone because we are too tired to care. Loves to play hide and seek with Elsie or friends, be read to, watch me cook and "help". She likes to act goofy and make up funny little dancing and singing.
More pictures from the little munchkin's birthday...
